Hi! Welcome to the August Stamp of the Month Blog hop. Today we’re featuring the “What A Hoot” stamp set; and it really is a hoot! This might be one of my favorite sets. Remember the blog hop is one big circle so be sure to check out all the art. If you get lost, there is a full list of participating blogs here. If you’ve come from Scrappin’ In Harmony with Jaime, you’re in the right place. She had a great idea to use the stamp for a birthday card instead of just for Halloween!
And here’s the card I made with it.
The papers in Chalk It Up made me start thinking about school, and then I started thinking about Back to School Night. As a junior high teacher, I don’t get the attendance I would like at Back to School events. Maybe I can use invitations like this to convince the parents that the night really will be “a hoot!”
I cut “Back to School” using the Artbooking font with my Cricut Explore. I cut the background and the text out of the same sheet from Chalk It Up. I love our versatile Background and Texture paper! I stamped the owl with Sorbet ink and then stamped him again on a piece of white card stock that I had embossed using Lagoon ink and a star embossing folder. I cut out the tummy from the stamp on the embossed paper and attached it to the original owl on plain card stock. I used the same embossed sheet of paper to stamp the wings. I added the “what a hoot” stamp in Sorbet and a bit of shimmer trim for some sparkle.
