One of my goals for this year is to post and craft more often. I am doing really well on the crafting, but I’m still forgetting to take pictures and post. Today’s card is for the first Heart to Heart challenge in January, Old is New. This challenge seemed like the perfect time to go through my stash. I found this polka-dot vellum in a special limited time paper pack from last year called free to be me. That pack had a paper with an arrow print that made me think of the paper from Chalk it up. The arrows also made me think of the target on our January Stamp of the Month.
I used adhesive to attach the vellum, but I had to be careful to only put glue on the back of the gold circles (it shows through the velum). I embossed a strip of lagoon paper with our chevron embossing folder and attached the arrow paper from Chalk It Up. I stamped the target and straight from the heart from the January Stamp of the Month and popped up the sentiment with 3d foam tape.
Little Trick: Masking can be used to stamp in two colors. For the target, I covered the center of the stamp and inked the stamp with lagoon ink. I then removed the cover, and stamped the target. This gave me a blank center. I covered the outside of the stamp this time and inked the center of the stamp (the part I covered before) with sorbet ink. I removed the mask and lined up the heart with the center of my stamped lagoon target (I love our clear stamps and blocks that make it so easy to line up images).
