This month we have over 70 talented Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month’s Stamp of the Month and other great Close To My Heart products on their blogs. Here we go!
I was inspired by the gift holder in the catalog and decided to create my own version. I got all set to create and realized that I don’t yet have any Christmas paper. What’s a girl to do? I decided this was the perfect opportunity to show off the smaller stamps in the stamp set by using them as the pattern. I cut the bag using the Artiste cartridge and my awesome Cricut Explore and then random stamped the bag using the candy cane and candy stamp from the stamp of the month. I used Cranberry and Glacier.
I used the stamp image on the Art Philosophy cartridge that coordinates with the Home for the Holidays set to cut out the stamp image in white. I then stamped the bear image four times so that I could paper piece to get all the colors I wanted. This wasn’t as bad as it sounds as all the pieces were easy shapes to cut out. I stamped the image in black directly on the stamp shape I cut out with the Cricut. I also stamped the bear again in Glacier to get the blue sky background. I attached this on top of the black image. I stamped the bear again in black and cut him out so that I could have his ears, eyes, and nose in black. Finally I stamped one more time in Cranberry to get the scarf and cut this out to attach on top of the bear.
Finally, I put the bag together (so easy since the Cricut Explore even makes score lines). I added velcro to hold the bag closed and used 3d tape to attach the bear image. Here’s how it turned out. I LOVE it. Now I just have to decide who to give it to.
and here’s a picture of the back of the bag. It just shows the random stamping.
