Hello! I really wanted to get in on the fun sketch over at Mojo Monday. They always have the greatest design ideas! Here’s the sketch:
And here’s the card I came up with:I really like the playful look of the Lollydoodle papers. They are retiring at the end of July, so be sure to order them while you can. I wanted my edges to stand out underneath the scallops, so I sponged the edges with Pear ink. To create the circle I used my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders scalloped circles to cut and emboss the circle. I then stamped the butterfly (from Your Own Kind of Wonderful) and the Just because (from Oodles of doodles) onto the circle using Cotton Candy ink. I stamped the butterfly again on scrap paper and cut it out. I lightly scored along the body to make it easy to fold the wings up. I then glued the center of his body onto the stamped butterfly on the circle and used dimensional tape to keep the wings up. I also colored the edges of the embossed circle cotton candy to match the butterfly and sentiment and make the circle pop.
Little Trick: I like to color the edges of my dimensional tape to match the stamped image so they don’t show so much
On the inside of the card, I used my sponge again to lightly add cotton candy ink. I also added Pear to any white or really light spots that remained after sponging on the Cotton Candy. Finally I stamped “Just so you know, I think you’re perfect” (from Better With a Friend) in Pear.
